HIGH VIEW CARE SERVICES

A service designed for the next step forward

Unit 9 in Crystal Palace is our Transition Living Unit, a specialist residential setting for adults with acquired brain injury, mental health, substance misuse, co-morbidities and complex needs who are working toward greater independence. It is a deliberately smaller, more domestic environment, where clients can develop real-world skills in a setting that more closely resembles everyday life. Unit 9 is our transitional living service and often represents the final stage of an individual's residential rehabilitation journey. Designed to bridge the gap between structured rehabilitation and greater independence, it provides the right balance of specialist support, personal responsibility and opportunity. Unit 9 also supports individuals who have experienced challenges or placement breakdowns within supported or independent living, offering a period of structured rehabilitation to rebuild confidence, stability and independent living skills. As a CQC-registered service, Unit 9 provides an important safety net for individuals who require ongoing support while preparing for greater independence. Our approach is centred on scaffolding providing the right level of support at the right time and gradually reducing this as skills, confidence and independence develop. Our Transdisciplinary Team (TDT), including Clinical Psychologists, Neuropsychologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapist and specialist Neuro Rehabilitation Coaches, continues to work alongside each client from the same shared support plan. The approach does not change. The environment becomes more enabling. Clients at Unit 9 are supported to manage daily tasks, build routine, develop their independence in the community and prepare for the next stage of their journey, whether that is a move to supported living, a return to family life or a transition to our outreach service.
